Phạm Đình Nguyên
Founder & CEO
Mr. Pham Dinh Nguyen, born in 1975 in Ho Chi Minh City, graduated from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City with a degree in Marketing and has over 20 years of experience in senior sales and marketing roles at multinational corporations and leading Vietnamese companies before founding IDS in 2010.
He has held management positions at Coca-Cola, Nokia, Mars, and Brightpoint; he served as Vice President of ICP (X-Men), Director of Modern Channels at Kinh Đô Group, and worked at Petro Setco Distribution.
The Story of Buford & PhinDeli
In April 2012, Mr. Nguyen became the first Vietnamese person to purchase a town in the United States—Buford, Wyoming (“the smallest town in the U.S.”)—through a global auction. The news reached 55 countries and over 800 million people.
In September 2013, he renamed the town “PhinDeli Town Buford” — introducing PhinDeli Vietnamese coffee to the U.S. market. More than 200 media outlets across five continents covered the story (BBC, Reuters, Bloomberg, The New Yorker, NBC News…).
“Nothing is impossible—as long as we are kind enough, determined enough, and dare to think big.”
